Friday Thoughts 8/16

I'd first like to start off my saying that I'm actually doing a Friday Thoughts on Friday! After this hectic and stressful week I am extremely proud of myself. Anyway, enough rambling and let me get to my deep and intellectual thoughts for this week: (obviously a joke. I wish there was a sarcastic font.)

  1. I turn 22 in less than a week and I am extremely terrified. Petter Pan syndrome right now. I never want to grow up.
  2. I still can not believe that I've started my senior year. It feels like just yesterday I was moving into the dorms.
  3. Speaking for freshman year, I CAN NOT believe that my baby brother is going to college. Even though I'm only three years older than him, him going to college makes me feel ancient.
  4. I'm becoming increasingly stressed about the future. Anyone know a good fortune teller in Athens?
  5. I'm so incredibly happy to be spending another year in the Mell St Castle with some amazing friends.
Well that's all the thoughts I have for this rainy Friday morning. There's going to be another post on the blog later today so check back to see what sorority bid day was like! Until next time! xx

P.s Here's a throw back to my brother and me at my aunt's wedding. Aren't we adorable?

Friday Thoughts 8/9

So this is way delayed since sorority rush has consumed my time for the past two weeks. I'm making this quick post to let everyone know that I'll be back to blogging once school settles down. But here are my thoughts for the past week:

  1. Sleep is probably the best thing ever. Also naps were created for babies and girls going through sorority rush.
  2. This week has been so stressful, but getting an awesome pledge class was so worth it.
  3. This year I'm going to really try to experience all Athens has to offer and make the most of my senior year.
  4. Even though it's weird to say, I love the new pledge class that Tri Delt got. Seriously they are all amazing.
  5. Slept deprivation is a real thing.
Sorry this post is a little lack luster, but I promise that I'll start back up again soon! Until next time! xx

Friday Thoughts 8/2

Now that I’m back from my little European adventure, I’ve finally settled into a little routine back at college. It’s nice being back at the house with all my college friends (if they would only move back in sooner). After four years in Athens, I can honestly say that this town has become a second home. Some people aren’t that lucky to say they’re loved where they went to college, but I guess I’m one of the lucky ones. Here are my Friday Thoughts for the week:

  1. I am incredibly lucky and thankful that I’ve found such a great support system with my friends. I honestly don’t think I could have survived college without them.
  2. I refuse to call myself a senior. In denial pretty bad.
  3. It’s my birthday month! Only 20 days until my birthday!
  4. Even though I don’t want to accept that this is my senior year, I am incredibly excited.
  5. I think it might be time for a new tattoo. Thinking something that celebrates my Irish heritage.

This list reminds me to cherish the time I still have in school. Even though I don’t want to accept that I’m going into my final year as an undergrad, I have to stop pouting and make the absolute best of it. I hope my friends hurry home and move back in so we can get this year started. Until next time! xxx

Friday Thoughts 7/26

Hello all! I think for the first time in a couple weeks I am actually posting a Friday Thought on Friday. Anyway, I've gotten a minute (and free wifi), amongst the world-wind traveling schedule to focus on the blog. Here are my thoughts for this week:

  1. I can't believe how lucky I got to have such an amazing and fun family. Bragging a little bit but I think that I do have the best family around.
  2. Surprisingly I've had decent food while I've been in Ireland....learned the chef that cooks at the hotel is French though. (No surprise)
  3. Itching for a new tattoo. Don't know exactly what though..but the blog is called Chews and Tattoos.
  4. Missing my friends at home a little too much. Can't wait to be reunited with my Mell girls. (Miss you too Mug, Gab, and Liz)
  5. Can I move to Europe? Anywhere would be nice really.
I've been extremely fortunate this summer with all my amazing opportunities. I do have to say that this trip to Ireland with a family that I wish I got to see more of, has been my favorite part. I still have some more time in Ireland so I should get off the laptop and start socializing. Until next time!! xx

Friday Thoughts

I have really been slacking on the Friday Thoughts. With all the traveling and jet lag, it’s hard to remember what day it is. Today I’m going to do a Monday Thought to make up for the lack of one last week. Here are my thoughts for this week:

  1. If someone told me I had to move to Europe tomorrow, I would be the happiest person ever. (anywhere is fine by me)
  2. I do miss the ice and free refills in America though.
  3. London is literally New York with accents and more history. I love it and could move there in a minute.
  4. The world should adapt the city planning and laws of Amsterdam. Happy people in a beautiful city. It’s my kind of place.
  5. I’m very excited to see all my Irish family in the motherland. This reunion should be a blast.

Sorry this week was kind of lame. I’ll make sure next week’s is much better! Until next time! xx

Friday Thoughts 7/12

First of all I want to apologize for my Friday Thoughts not actually being posted on Friday. In my defense I have been on vacation for the past couple of weeks and beach time seems to be different than actual time. I promise with all my heart that next week (while I'm in Europe) I will post a Friday Thought on Friday. Anyway here are my Friday Thoughts from 7/12:

  1. With the summer winding down (for me) I'm getting a little depressed to leave my family.
  2. On the other hand, I am so excited to get back to my Athens family (Mell St. I'm talking to you!)
  3. I can't wait to get to explore some new parts of Europe come Monday. (Amsterdam, London, and Ireland here I come)
  4. I wish there was an app that would allow you to put in where you are going for how long and it would calculate the weather and what you should pack. (I'm trademarking this is it doesn't already exist)
  5. Do they have pizza in Amsterdam? If you know of any good restaurants out there let me know.
I promise that next week I will post on time. Also keep in mind that today (7/13) is Kate Middleton's due date. Pray for that little royal bundle of joy. Anyways, until next time!! xxx

Friday Thoughts 7/5

It totally dawned on my today (July 9th) that I forgot to do a Friday Thoughts this week. My apologizes to all my avid readers out there. I checked the calendar and realized that last Friday was the 5th...aka the day after the 4th of July. So if you were as American as I was the night before, you probably weren’t feeling so hot that next morning. Anyway, here are my thoughts from last Friday/ today:

  1. Coconut water might be the gods was of saying, “Hey have that extra beer I got you covered.” #hydration
  2. The Jersey Shore will forever be my favorite summer vacation spot specifically Avalon, Stone Harbor, and Wildwood.
  3. I missed my family so much and didn’t realize how little time I get to spend with them since I’m in college. Extremely sad.
  4. When you get older it doesn’t mean you still can’t have fun. My dad is the best example of this. Dang that man can party.
  5. I hope that when I get older I’ll have the close group of friends that my parents have because everyone needs that close knit support system.

Obviously you can see this Friday Thought is very family driven. This is probably since I spent the Fourth of July holiday with them at the beach. I couldn’t be more lucky with the familial cards that I got dealt. Here are some pictures of the 5th of July and the fun night I had out with all my family. Love you guys! Until next time!! xxx

Friday Thoughts 6/28

Sorry for the delay of posts. With it being my last week in the city I haven't really found time to sit down and blog. But trust me some awesome posts are coming soon!!

For this edition of Friday Thoughts I wanted to start off by saying thank you to my friend Alex. She sent me a text that said "I can't wait for your Friday Thoughts today!" and it made me realize that maybe people are actually reading what I have to say. Something simple like a friendly text can really turn your day around. Here are my thoughts for the week:
  1. Thank you Vicki for giving the office off today and letting me enjoy my last day in New York.
  2. Even though I am extremely sad to be leaving the city tomorrow, I have a feeling that I'll be back after college. I still have a slight twinge of disappointed though. And not leaving the city forever. It's more like a 12 month sabbatical away while I finish school.
  3. NEVER I repeat NEVER walk for 6 hours (roughly 4 miles) in Sam Edelman sandals. My poor..poor feet.
  4. Levains cookies make for a perfectly well balanced and healthy breakfast. (click here to see)
  5. I am going to miss being able to aimlessly walk around the city and never feel lost even though I don't know where I'm going.
New York has really stolen my heart away. This city is amazing and always has something new to offer. I'm sad about leaving but excited to see what the next few weeks traveling and the next school year have in store for me. Until next time New York! xxx

Friday Thoughts 6/21

I've decided that I'm adding a section to the blog, Friday Thoughts, that will be a recurring weekly post filled with the current top 5 thoughts running through my head. Hopefully everyone doesn't find this painfully boring since there aren't pictures to go along this post. But there probably will be in the future so don't abandon hope and attention just yet! Here is the first initialization of Friday Thoughts:

  1. I'm extremely sad (and a touch depressed) that I only have one more week in New York
  2. I'm making a vow to myself that I will get a cronut before I leave the city (if you don't know what a cronut is click here) Mark my words....I WILL get a cronut!
  3. I've become obsessed with finding the "perfect clutch bag" if anyone has any suggestions help a sista out
  4. There are only 24 more days until I embark on my mini European Adventure to Amsterdam, London, and Ireland (travel suggestions are encouraged) and I am bursting with excitement
  5. Avocados have become a recent obsession of mine.....as well as Thai food
It seems only fitting that my last thought is about food considering I'm working at a food magazine and I'm constantly surrounded by it. Until next time!! xxx
