Sunday in the City

Today was officially my first day in my new apartment in New York City. I can already tell that I am going to fall in love with this place. Even though I have some jitters about living in a new city, there is so much that New York has to offer that I think I'll be too preoccupied with what's around me to be nervous.

Today's adventures started with a home cooked breakfast in my apartment for my mom since it was Mother's Day. After breakfast we ventured out into the city and walked around Madison Square Park. Needles to say I think I found my new favorite place to spend time. Not only was the park filled with a ton of people (it was a gorgeous day by the way), it had a Shake Shack in the park!!! A BURGER PLACE IN THE PARK!!! Could that get any better?!?

A SHAKE SHACK IN THE PARK!!!! SO EXCITED!

Some spring time flowers in the park

Madison Square Park also had an awesome art installation of painted nautical rope which was amazing. It was a beautiful and fun addition to the park. If you're in the area I recommend checking them out. They are awesome pieces that have a natural beauty about them.

There is also an event going on called Mad. Sq. Eats. for the month of May, which is an assortment of different food vendors that set up food trucks in the park. I will be making frequent trips before the month of May is up to make sure I can experience all that Mad. Sq. Eats has to offer. My inner foodie is very excited!

My mom and I then ventured down to Soho to do some shopping. The absolute best part was that the Prada store on Broadway had an exhibit of all the costumes from The Great Gatsby movie. It was amazing seeing the detail of these flamboyant costumes from the movie up close. I wish I could have stolen some of the outfits they had out! If I could have a wardrobe that was devoted to 1920s fashion I would be extremely content.

The amazing display of costumes.
The dress on the right was my favorite!

Daisy Buchanan's dress from Gatsby's party. Stunning.

Today was an awesome day in the city, and I can't wait to have more days like this. Tomorrow I start my internship so more adventures are sure to follow! xx
